Time Zone Converter

Convert time between world time zones instantly. Enter a time in one zone and see the exact local time in another, with dates handled automatically.

About this tool

Scheduling across time zones is one of the most common sources of missed meetings. A 3 PM call in New York is 8 PM in London and midnight in Karachi, and daylight saving changes make mental math risky. Guessing the difference is how people end up joining an hour early or an hour late.

Our free time zone converter removes the guesswork. Enter a time in one city zone and instantly see what time it is in another, with the correct date attached. It accounts for daylight saving automatically because it uses your browser's built-in time zone database.

How to use

Type the time in 24-hour format, for example 14:30 for half past two in the afternoon. Choose the source time zone and the target time zone from the dropdowns, then press Convert Time. The tool shows the converted time together with the weekday and date, which matters when the conversion crosses midnight.

The conversion is based on today's date in the source zone, so daylight saving rules for the current date are applied correctly.

The math behind it

Behind the scenes, the tool turns your wall-clock time into an exact UTC instant. It takes today's date in the source zone, combines it with your time, and measures that zone's UTC offset for that date using the international time zone database. Then it formats that instant in the target zone.

Using the database instead of a fixed offset table is what makes daylight saving work: New York is UTC-5 in winter and UTC-4 in summer, and the tool picks the right one for the date.

Frequently asked questions

Does the converter handle daylight saving time?
Yes. The tool uses the official IANA time zone database built into your browser, which contains every daylight saving rule and historical change. Conversions are calculated for today's date in the source zone, so the correct summer or winter offset is applied automatically.
What time format should I enter?
Enter the time in 24-hour HH:MM format, for example 09:00 for nine in the morning or 21:30 for half past nine at night. The tool validates the format and shows an error if the hours or minutes are out of range.
Why does the date sometimes change in the result?
Because time zones can differ by up to 26 hours in total span. Converting an evening time eastward often lands on the next day, and converting a morning time westward can land on the previous day. The result always includes the weekday and date so there is no confusion.
