Random Number Generator

Free random number generator. Pick secure, unbiased random integers between any minimum and maximum. Perfect for draws, games and decisions. No signup.

About this tool

Need a fair way to pick a winner, roll virtual dice, or choose a number out of thin air? A random number generator gives you unbiased integers between any minimum and maximum you set. It is perfect for giveaways, classroom activities, games and everyday decisions.

Unlike simple scripts that use predictable math, this tool draws from your browser's cryptographic random source. That means every number in the range has a genuinely equal chance, with no hidden patterns. Everything happens on your device, instantly and free.

How to use

Enter the smallest number you want in the Minimum box and the largest in the Maximum box. Then tell the tool how many numbers to generate, up to 100 at a time. Click Generate Numbers and your list appears immediately.

For a raffle, set minimum 1 and maximum to your number of tickets. For dice, use 1 to 6. Each click produces a fresh, independent set of numbers, so keep clicking until you have what you need.

The math behind it

True randomness on a computer comes from unpredictable physical or system events, which the browser exposes through crypto.getRandomValues. This tool takes those random 32-bit values and maps each one evenly onto your chosen range, so every integer between minimum and maximum is equally likely.

Simpler generators use Math.random, which is fine for games but technically predictable. By using the cryptographic source instead, this tool is fair enough for prize draws and anything else where trust in the result matters.

Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers truly random?
They come from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, which gathers unpredictability from the operating system. For all practical purposes, yes, the results are truly random and unbiased. This is the same quality of randomness used to generate security keys, far better than the basic Math.random function found in casual scripts.
Can numbers repeat in the results?
Yes. Each number is drawn independently, so repeats are possible and normal, just like rolling dice. If you need a set of unique numbers, for example drawing 5 different winners, generate a few extra and ignore duplicates, or simply regenerate until the list has no repeats.
What is the largest range I can use?
You can use any whole numbers your browser can handle precisely, up to about 9 quadrillion, though ranges that large are rarely useful. Typical uses like 1 to 100, 1 to 1000, or 1 to 1,000,000 all work perfectly. Keep the count at 100 or fewer per click for a clean, readable result.
